Our 5th Day - Rope Drop @ Magic Kingdom & Clair's 1st Haircut

We started our 5th day of our vacation at the Magic Kingdom. We were there for rope drop @ 9:00am. This was our 1st Chilly day! We went to Target on the way to the park to pick up gloves and hats. The low temperature that morning was 40 degrees. That may not seem too cold, however when you are outside all day in the chilly weather, it feels really cold! We had a hard time getting warmed up on this day! We never took off our sweat shirts!

Our 1st stop was Dumbo! The girls & I took the pink flying Dumbo while the boys got on the peach one! It was quite cold flying around in the air! We decided to move onto another "warmer" attraction after that!

This is a view from Dumbo of the new Fantasy Land Expansion construction.

This is a view of Fantasyland at rope drop time - approx. 9:15am. Later in the day, you can't see down the street because there are so many people! This is the perk of going early at rope drop. We basically had the park to ourself for an hour!

Our next stop was the Teacups! Samantha & Alden loved this ride! Doug & Clair played it safe by just watching us! There was a PhotoPass Photographer standing beside the teacups, so she took some pictures of us on the ride!

And she took a picture of Clair watching! Doesn't Clair look THRILLED? :) Keep an eye on that hair...she will have a new look by the end of the day!

Alden & Doug went on Speedway while the girls' and I waited for the rope to drop @ Toontown (Toontown opens 1 hour after the park opens). We ran to the Fairy Meet & Greet and Alden & Doug met us there.

The Fairy Meet & Greet area is one of the SLOWEST-LONGEST lines in the park. It is usually over a 45 minute wait, but because we got there right when it opened, we only stood in line for about 15 minutes! We saw Rosetta, Tinker Bell, & Videa!

As we were walking through Frontier Land - we saw Donald Duck! He is Alden's favorite - so we had to wait in line to see him. His "handler" or cast member that helps Donald was actually from Nebraska - so that was really neat! Clair was still afraid of the characters, so we just wheeled her past in the stroller. The PhotoPass Photographer wanted to take a picture of her with Donald, so she made us still around get Donald looking over her shoulder! :) Clair had no idea!

Also in Frontier Land, we saw Woody & Jessie - a couple of Alden & Samantha's favorite characters!! This was actually the 2nd longest line (the Tangled Meet & Greet on our last day was the longest line) we stood in on the trip! This is the only place to meet Jessie in a park, so we needed to do it for Samantha. We probably waited about 25-30 minutes, but it was worth it! :)

After grabbing some lunch, we walked on over to the Harmony Barber Shop on Main Street USA! We had scheduled Clair's 1st Haircut for 1pm that day way in advance! She got Mickey ears from her haircut and some other fun stuff! She looked like a whole different girl when they were done! She could actually see again!! She did really well with the whole haircut! They gave her some stickers to play with and a Mickey spinner.

Our attempt at a family picture on Main Street! Clair wanted nothing to do with it!

Alden fell asleep while we were walking over to get ready to watch the A Dream Come True parade! He actually stayed asleep for a while during the parade! We're not sure how, because it was VERY loud!

Samantha waved at EVERY float and character during the parade! All the characters came up to her and gave her high 5s! Other kids were jealous of her, but they weren't waving at the characters! :)

After the parade, we decided to head back to Westgate because we were still cold! We grabbed Papa John's pizza on our way back for supper. By now, Alden was starting to get sick, so we all needed the rest!
